Salacious Crumb

$1,800.00

This is a replica prop hand puppet I made based on the Salacious B. Crumb character from the movie Return of the Jedi. I cast this piece from a mold of an original sculpture that I did according to my own slight re-designing of the character. I made this pretty much the same way the one in the movie was made using animatronic-grade foam latex that is soft but still reasonably durable. I painted this by hand with great care and sealed the paint with clear urethane to protect it from damage and the foam is tinted to the base color so even if you manage to tear him, (which is unlikely under normal circumstances) it won't be noticeable.

His arms and legs have rods inside so that he bends properly at the elbows and knees. His arms are permanently attached but his legs are connected like an action figure with a socket of sorts so they can be rotated to sit him “Indian style” or seated like a dummy. His fingers and toes have wire inside, as well as the ears so they can be bent into position.

He is hollow inside his body so he can be used as a hand puppet and he fits over the average sized arm. His body extends all the way to the wearers elbow and his neck has stretchy spandex inside to prevent tearing. The puppeteer can rotate the head, open and close the mouth, make a few facial expressions and there is also an additional cavity to move the tongue around.

He is the perfect complement to a costume for conventions or fan films or even just having as a display.

Last year I was privileged to work on V/H/S/99. I designed and built the majority of the creatures from the final segment of the film. This weekend I received this screenshot from the directors of V/H/S/99 announcing that I was nominated along side s
Now that @deadstreamfilm is set to be released on @shudder, I can finally share some #bts of the project. This is the skin and some of the inner peices for the puppet head of the Mildred character for the final showdown. Without giving too much away,
@deadstreamfilm is screening down in @sxsw this weekend! This is one of the characters I created for a hilarious scene but I don't want to give too much away other than to say it's a fabricated suit and had three heads for three separate functions; a
Krampus photo backdrop I put together for Christmas. This is a fabricated display at the Layton Hills Mall for photo ops. I cobbled together castings of existing characters I sculpted for the chest and face. The rest was fabricated by hand.

This is a work in progress shot of the prototype fabrication for the humanoid spider semi-animatronic / puppeteered character debuted at @evermorepark. It was intended to represent a human that is anguished over being turned into this creature.
